Even when I was a kid I did loads of dirty little drawings which all got stuffed into an envelope and into a bottom draw. I even said it was a 'Christmas Drawer' which contained all my family's presents and if they dared to venture inside it would ruin the surprise. As if I could ever be that organised, but at least I was inventive!
So yeah I did hundreds of these sketches, mostly really, really cheezy constructions of macho stereotypes like firemen and cowboys with penises often extending beyond the knees. With no internet access I had very little anatomical references, so you can imagine how accurate they were. Unfortunatley I had a Puritan moment and decided to burn them all; my Christmas Drawer was screaming to me like in an Edgar Allen Poe story.
I'm so pissed I can't look at those drawings now, I pretty much knew that they were crap at the time so thought I would never miss them, but I would love to look at them now just to observe my developing sexuality, and what I thought of as sexy back then. So now I've decided not to feel guilty about dirty drawing, it was quite easy to switch it off actually. One of the most wonderful things about growing up is sympathizing less with other peoples' opinions of you.
So on that note, here are some drawings from the past few years, which I think have major, major faults but are still kind of cool, because everything's a journey.
